Figure

Gesture

This is a link to a youtube channel I use to practice gesture art. It is similar to live drawings so thats nice. It has structure, I don't have to find references, and it is an easy warm up. This will not automatially make you better, and the gestures you first draw may not come out too well(at least mine were not good). It all comes with repetition.

Michael Hampton

The main man who taught me how to do proper gestures. He has some videos on Proko that I also use, but I watch how he does his gestures and apply it to my drawings. He does have a book but it did not help me as well as these videos did.

Morpho Books

I have a few of these books, but if you were to ge a single one, use Morpho: Simplified Forms.

Kaycem

At first this was not helpful in the slightest, but I found as my understanding of anatomy grew, his videos became a lot more helpful.

3D Skull

I have given in to the propaganda that you need to know the skull to know how to draw a face.

PDF Books on Figure Drawing

One Drive Link to Figure Drawing Books. This is not my drive but I found it via googling.

This is not a link, but I sketch mostly with pen, makes you less precious over sketches, because each line is permanent, you can't just undo/erase and waste time on a practice sketch/warm-up.

Perspective

Proko

This link is specifically how to draw cyllinders and ellipses, but they have many different helpful videos as well.

Composition

Movie Stills

I watch a lot of movies so watching stills from movies makes my brain more willing to study

More Movie Stills Wolf Children Edition

Since not every website has everything.

Value

Marco Bucci Value

I don't know if it how he explains it or what, but this helped the idea of values in my head

Color

Marco Bucci Color using a ball

This has no new information that I have no heard before but somehow it made the most sense.

Painting

Marco Bucci

His painting videos and coloring videos are helpful. Again do I do exactly whay they say, no but there are bits and pieces that I test out in my own digital art. Some I like some I don't. A lot of trial and error.

CinimodDraws - Digital Oil Painting Tutorial

I do not draw like this man at all, but his tips helped me find how I like to paint digitally. Which is one layer, minimal blending, and kinda a more messy feel.

Drawing Books online

I have not checked out all the books, but there are the two bridgeman books everyone raves about

Suck at what you do? Just do it more.

You will suck, like a lot, like....I can not emphasize how much you will hate anything you will make. So find some things to keep you sane.
